Hello,

I have a HP Elitedesk 800 G1 and I need to replace the PCI Sound card, can someone tell me what PCI Sound card I need and the PCI sound card needs to be 7.1.

Also I need fit a ethernet PCI Card, can some one tell me what ethernet PCI Card do I need.

Both the audio and the ethernet are integrated into the motherboard so you do not have a pci sound or ethernet card. You can add either one or both. There are two x1 PCIe slots and you can put a sound card or ethernet card in either one. The sound card does not have to be 7.1; that just says how many audio channels the sound uses. Do you have the tower or Small form factor version as this will determine if you need a regular or half-height card although you can buy a sound or ethernet card which will come with the brackets to install it in either type of slot.

I have used both and no denying 7.1 is "better" but also more expensive and hard to set up properly. For all but the purest audiophile 5.1 sound is going to be very good and frankly it's more about the speakers. Even bargain 5.1 sound cards can put out very nice sound to a good set of speakers.
