HP NOTEBOOK 14-dq1039wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade my HP Pavilion NOTEBOOK 14-dq1039wm S S D drive to a 1 TB drive but I cannot find one to match up with it any help on a good drive for this setup in the size range of 1 TB.  One more question can someone  please explain the difference between a S S D drive and optane memory because it sounds as if both are built into one which would be the S S D Drive with a bit of spice added to it just to make things sound a bit better.

@GlennMc77 , welcome back to the forum.

Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the laptop:  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06403450

On Page 32 is a list of compatible M.2 SSD's.  I know it doesn't show a 1 TB, but I believe that it should be fine.  Here is a Samsung M.2, SSD, that should work for you:  https://www.newegg.com/samsung-970-evo-plus-1tb/p/N82E16820147743

Here is an explanation of Optane Memory:  https://store.hp.com/us/en/tech-takes/what-is-intel-optane-memory

Thanks that works and I would even go up to 2 TB if I could find one.

You are welcome, @GlennMc77!

You will be able to find a 2 TB M.2, SSD, it depends if you want to pay the price or not.  The price goes up tremendously from 1 GB on some manufacturer's products.  Click on the 2 TB tab in the link that I provided.  The price goes from $179 for the 1 TB to $349 for the 2 TB drive.

Good luck!
