I recently upgraded my laptop from the realtek RTL8723DE to the RTL8821CE but the AC option isn’t appearing in the adapter properties

Hi:

There is no AC advanced settings option that I know of.

None of my AC wifi cards have that setting.

Using an AC router, connect your notebook to the 5.0 GHz wifi band, and look at the connection speed as follows.

Go to the windows control panel>network and internet>network and sharing center.

Under the View your active networks section, on the right side, click on your wireless network connection.

It will show the current connection speed.

The maximum connection speed the RTL8821CE can reach is 433 MBPS with an excellent signal.

On the 2.4 GHz wifi band it has the same throughput as the RTL8723DE--72 MBPS.

The speed says 195mbps, I’m  a good bit away from my modem so that speed isn’t surprising,  still much better than the 20mbps connection i was getting on the old chip 🙂

That's passable.

If you only had a dual band N router on the 5.0 GHz band, that card would max out at 150 MB/S, so you are definitely in 'AC mode.'
