Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

Just got a new envy 15-ep1020ca and I'm trying to add a 2nd SSD in the available M.2 slot (got a WD black sn850 2tb) and BIOS is not detecting the new SSD drive. I have tried different options that I found here (like installing latest intel RST, updating BIOS) but still the SSD is not being detected. Appreciate any insights and a potential solution.

Thanks

Sounds like it only supports Single storage, the second slot (if any) could be disabled.

thank you. I tried to see where I could find that information. Could you please be kind enough to point where in the manuals, it does say that second slot could be disabled? I would think 15-ep1020ca is a 2022 model and it would be rather very surprising if indeed the second slot is disabled.

Thank you

Hi I have a similar HP Envy15 lap top and experiencing the same issue. I bought a Hynix NVME M2 SSD 1TB and installed it on the second empty slot and it is not showing anywhere in Windows nor the BIOS. After answering some trouble shooting questions from the  HP support robot assistant, it end up giving me instructions on how to flash the BIOS. I find this a bet extreme and I'm not comfortable with that solution. Anyone have resolved this issue and have the second SSD showing?
