Windows 10 needs the system partition to make a system image I just recalled. I had this happen to me once and I had to use Paragon Partition Manager to move the root of the partition over to the right and install a system partition big enough...I think it needs like 500 megs to run a backup or system image. You will also find you cannot do simple backups.
What were the sizes of the original hard drive and the SSD? If you do a simple proportional clone and you are going from a large to a small disk space, the cloning operation will just skip over any partitions which it would shrink too much to hold the data on the old drive. That is why if you are going from say a 1 TB hard drive and down to a 240 or 120 gig SSD, you have to do a fully manual clone to be sure you get the needed partitions cloned over.

As for the sizes, it should not be a problem at all. I'm going from a 500GB HDD to a 512GB SSD. At this point, I'm convinced that if I just do a fresh reinstall, everything will be just fine.
