Hi, I bought SDD Silicon Power Ace A55 and installed it in my laptop, then I installed OS Windows 10 x64, after the installation is complete it rebooted. After reboot a black screen appeared. I rebooted it again, and saw the message "Disk error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart". On another PC this SSD works well. I tried different OS (Win7, Win10) and different modes (UEFI, Legacy) but it still doesn't working. BIOS haven't SATA mode settings.

@oceanEcho Did you happen to check the user maintenance guide before upgrading your PC? because I did and unfortunately, the device isn't tested by HP to work on a 256GB SSD, the max supported is 160GB, Click here to verify the details.

Also, (As an upgrade/custom enthusiast I personally love the idea of upgrading the device as well, However, HP recommends that you go easy on it as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed above are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)

The capacity of the drive is not the issue; there is no practical limit on capacity of the hard drive or SSD. The BIOS is permanently set to AHCI so no need to change that, either. This is an older laptop and the SATA controller sometimes will not work well with newer SSDs. The Silicon Power is an SLC (single level cell) which is a technology that did not exist when the laptop was made.
