Thanks but i dont want to buy something that was there and should be there.
My bottom line is if your not going to have the remaining time showing then at least GET RID OF THE "CALCULATING....."
and only show the percent.
That shouldnt be that hard to do.

I'm sorry. To say this is a trend and that's why it was removed from the Bios, is just bull **bleep**. I think it's that HP sells laptops to last x hours on the battery, and then if their estimators are showing lower times, they were tired of getting complaints. So they removed the feature to show the estimate. If you are removing this feature, you should also stop displaying that your laptops will last for un-realistic times on a charge.

Interfering with the operating system / BIOS in such a way is not acceptable, at least not for a Windows device. This issue, plus the connected one of poor battery duration much shorter than advertised, overheating CPU, flickering screens and several others are reasons I will not be buying HP again. This was my first HP purchase in about 6 years and I was looking forward to it, but owning a sleek and seksy laptop at the expense of key features and functions is not something I will be doing again. Bye HP.

I'm not sure what is going on here...but I had the same problem on my x360 f11 bios. Read hundreds of articles and everyone has been blaming someone.
Well I just booted into the bios on my x360 and there is a battery setting that you can enable to show time left. I checked enable and now it shows a time 83% 10hours and 5 minutes!
Check it out.

The option really needs to remain in the BIOS settings for users to see time remaining.
When I am working on a flight, I need to know if I have enough battery left to complete important work. HP treating us like stupid kids is not helpful and at least they should give the option. The analogy of mobile devices not showing time remaining is not relevant since a) Windows 10 specifically includes this ability to show time remaining and b) a mobile device such as phone or tablet can be recharged from a power pack whereas this laptop cannot, or if it could then it would require a power pack the size of a brick!
Anyway, this is just one of many issues with my Spectre, I will not be buying HP again based on these various very poor experiences and especially since they are not accepted let alone addressed by HP. If HP treats clients like dirt then clients will ultimately go elsewhere. And I assure HP that some of us are not just "churn" who can be replaced by new and ignorant buyers, some of us may buy a consumer product from HP that turns out crap but we may also hold very big purchasing power for our corporations. Go figure HP.
No point in buying good looking laptop if it's not adequately functioning: seriously overheating with CPU over 80C, not coming out of sleep properly, no estimate of battery life, short battery life, flickering display when on battery....

It would be helpful if you clarify what your BIOS version is. Mine is the latest F43 of Oct 2016 and I cannot see such an option. As well as your version a description of where in the menu that option is would be helpful, even a screenshot.

Hey,,
maybe because we have spectre x360 g2. I am not sure this cause the problem or not, but F.11 bios solved the problem for me as well.
This is my bios: F.11 Rev.A 10 nov. 2016
Now it is not that shiny graphical thing where you can test your whole computer and reset the battery, but the nice old blue one.

In the latest bios, F45, the option is there!
I've checked it today.
I'm quite sure there was no such option in the previous, F43.
Here is a picture of the option in the F45 for Spectre x360 2015 model.
But it still doesn't show in the menu
Hovering with the mouse instead shows the remaining time.
I suppose the stock version of Windows 10 found with the laptop has this function partially disabled internally.
Maybe with a clean Windows 10 installation, downloaded on the MS website, could reintroduce this function.
