Product: HP840G1
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I have the HP Elitebook 840 G1 running Winodws 10 where there is no Biometric device showing in Device Manager - see images
I also installed Synaptic Synaptics WBF Fingerprint Driver SP81058.exe downloaded from HP Support site - But still
I have my windows updated, installed some drivers from the Hp driver pack support.
I even enabled the biometric in the group policy but to no avail.
please help

Hello
the cases are two:
- as finger print reader was optional , your unit just doesn't have it.
- go in bIOS setup , pressing F10 at power on. once in BIOS setting , in advanced menu, search for FingerPrint Reader.
- in case you don't find it, it mean it's not installed
- in case you find it, check if it's enabled
- if you are sure FPR is there , try lo load Factory Default BIOS setting and save it, but this may change some of your customizations.
