Hi, whenever in my general use the laptop's fans keep on going and never turn off, and when i plug in the fans make more noise even though i am not gaming or anything. Is there anything i am missing or should i do something about it, because it gets annoying.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you tried to Adjust the computer power settings?

Follow this document on reducing heat inside your computer, see Reducing Heat Inside the PC. ( refer to Step 1: Clean the vents and inspect the fans)

  1. After you remove the dust, turn on the computer. If the error message persists, continue with these steps.
  2. Perform a hard reset. Performing a hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in memory and enable you to use the computer again, even if only for a short time to access and save any important files before service.

For more information on performing a hard reset, see Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues.

  • In some cases, updating the BIOS might help prevent this i.ssue For more information on how to update the BIOS, see Updating the BIOS.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
