I have a HP laptop notebook which is currently not allowing me to boot up in Win 10. I have downloaded the win 10 reinstalation to a bootable usb, however the blue screen of death error I am getting is a "Stopcode: Driver PNP Watchdog" error. I have realised after trying to reboot that my Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version is out of date....I have now downloaded the current version onto a usb drive but for the life of me can not work out how I am supposed to update it being that I cant get the thing to boot up in the first place. PLEASE HELP!

"Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version is out of date" That shouldn't matter.
Are you able to tap F2 immediately after pressing the power button to use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility to run a system check?
The Stopcode: Driver PNP Watchdog error means that there is either a hardware or driver issue forcing a stop.

It appears to be battery related.
I'm hoping if I remove the battery and run it straight off of ac power I can get it back up and running until I can get a replacement battery.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Your laptop definitely has a battery problem. It needs to be replaced.
All you need to do is unplug the connector. The battery can stay in place until your are ready to replace it.
As long as the laptop system board power circuit is OK, it should run without the battery connected and the AC power adapter in place.

That is something we won't know until you try after unplugging the battery connector.
With newer laptops, there is no BIOS battery.
The BIOS gets its current to retain configuration data, including boot information, from the main battery .
It will depend on just how long it has been since the battery has been near failure.
When a Moderator sees your previous post, they will likely remove the image because it contains your laptop serial number.
Posting it as text and removing the serial number would have been preferred.
If you can edit the serial number out of it, that will not happen.
HP does not allow the presence of serial numbers of HP products in threads.
That is why we never ask for it.
It is useful for using the PartSurfer and for finding the HP Support portal.
I suspect HP's reasoning for not allowing its presence is that some people will use that serial number for some nefarious purposes.

Hey @Erico
Thanks again for your input! The battery issue is no longer a problem but I still cant get it to boot up without that blue screen of death appearing showing the same message as previously mentioned....I'm starting to pull my hair out.
How do I get this thing up and running atleast so I can attempt to back it up before something else goes wrong.
Kind Regards,
Cherry66

Can you run the system test again and post the result here?

Hi @Cherry66
I notice the date in the system log are all on the 8th of May. Can you run the Diagnostics tests again to geta result from after the battery has been replaced?
That would help in troubleshooting.
Usually a Blue screen even has an alphanumeric code. Can you post that if it appears?
It would also help if you used the BIOS system information section to get the System SKU or HP product number. That will provide the hardware configuration of your laptop.
