Please, I have just purchased a Notebook USB3 Express card for my DV7 Pavilion 2180el.

Whith the card inserted and locked in the slot, when I pull out one usb connector, the whole card come out.

Is thi normal?

With a laptop that is as old as yours is that has been used for many years that is pretty likely.

 

Your laptop came to market about fifteen years ago.

 

Locking tabs and devices do wear out over time.

I'm not sure this is an aging problem, since I never used both SD and PCMCIA slots before...

Anyway, I'll give up with the card, since this problem might lead with losing data, sometimes very important!
