Hello!
After buying this laptop I have noticed that it is warmer than other laptops I used. (I use Celsius degrees.) The lmsensors Linux module reports that my PCH (north bridge) is 60 - 62 degrees and my CPUs are about 45 in idle state. Another thing that troubles me is that the table under my laptop heats a lot and the part above the keyboard is constantly warm (more than 40 degrees). Although these temperatures seem to be operational and normal, I would like to ensure that my laptop doesn't overheat. So, I have several questions regarding heat and temperature:

  1. Does undervolting voids my warranty? It is said I have 9 months of warranty from HP, but my retailer claims that I have 1 year of warranty.
  2. I have updated BIOS and it contains an option to change the power of my CPU (default, 30 Watt, 25 Watt, 20 Watt). Can I use to decrease the temperatures of my laptop?
  3. What additional measures I can take to keep my computer cool and long-lasting?

Thank you in advance.

Undervolting and using nonstandard BIOS would void the warranty. But lowering the power would tend to make it run cooler. I have never seen an HP BIOS that gives that option?

I have taken a screenshot of my BIOS.

This option was initially present in my BIOS and it was left intact after BIOS update by Windows Update Center.photo_2019-08-11_17-45-44.jpg

i7-8750h your processor is a 45w. You might experiment with trying to set lower power to the CPU and see if it runs OK and how hot it runs.
