OMEN by HP 15-dh0156tx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

Recently I have considered to buy 34" curved monitor to connect my OMEN notebook (HP 15-dh0156tx)

My idea is to connect the curved monitoe by HDMI of my OMEN

And also display resolution is adjusted as 3440 x 1440 by NVIDIA control plane of my OMEN

May I know the above if it is worked ?

Andrew

Yes it will work. See the Service Manual here:

HDMI port can drive a monitor up to 4096 x 2160 and the USB-C port will drive a DP connected monitor up to 7680 x 3840

The monitor surely has DP input and I would definitely opt for a USB-C to DP adapter cable and run the curved screen from the USB-C port, not the HDMI port although either will work. I just find external video from the USB-C (alt DP or Thunderbolt) is smoother and more reliable.

Hi Huffer, Thank you for your quick advise in detail. It is quite helpful for me to consider any further step. Andrew
