I am looking to replace the Thermal pads on the heat sync. In another thread I found, a link was given to 3mm thick thermal pads. I was wondering if the thickness matters or if I would be able to use a 1.5mm thick thermal padding such as that sold by Arctic?

Thanks for any help, and forgive me if I have gotten this completely wrong ha

The existing padding is going to be 3mm and if you replace with 1.5 mm the fit will not be optimal. Of course, no reason you cannot stack two thicknesses to make it fit. I have not seen the need to replace thermal pads, just thermal paste where metal makes contact to metal, but some people want to do everything possible which I appreciate.

Hey, thank you. Yeah my padding seems to be damaged. Maybe from being opened previously to me owning it, but figure it should be replaced.
Thank you for the suggestion. It definitely helps.
