OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dh0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a "OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dh0xxx" connected to a "HP Thunderbolt Dock 230W G2 w/ Combo Cable". The Omen does not see the G2. However, I also have the 120W G2 Dock, and the Omen can see devices on the docking station.

So, I connected the 230W "Combo Cable" to the 120W G2 dock's power supply, and the Thunderbolt seems to work. The connected monitor and USB devices are then available. But, now I can't use the power for the laptop, because it needs 200W.

Why does the extra power to the 230W G2 Dock make the Thunderbolt not work?

One more thing... if I don't power down the Omen, and switch back to the 230W power supply, everthing works... until I turn off the laptop.

HP Omen machines are NOT on the compatible list.

The Omen 15 is supposed to have Thunderbolt port. The HP G2 Thunderbolt Dock is supposed to be Thunderbolt compatible. Why would HP not follow standards when they sell products. I will never buy another HP product if they sell a Thunderbolt device that isn't compatible with a Thunderbolt port on their own product.

This is insane.
