OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck2000 (70X02AV)

Hello, as per specs on the laptop I have purchased, there is '1 Thunderbolt™ 4 with USB Type-C® 40Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery' and also it says that 'You can use the 100W/20V Type-C adapter or power bank when running light loading tasks.'

Unfortunately I tried using an USB-C adapter (100W, 20V) but if the laptop is turned on it just keep using the battery until it is empty and then it turns off. When the laptop is turned off it charges the laptop battery but I cannot use the laptop while charging from USB-C.

Can you please help? as the Thunderbolt power delivery function should allow usage of laptop in place of battery,

Adding that this is the product I have (the model tag is wrong):

I have a good update for this. I purchased a generig USB-C 100W adapter compatible with Power Delivery 3.0 and it works perfectly when also when the laptop is turned on (in Eco mode).

So,

- Dell usb charger does not work

- I tried also with an HP Thunderbolt dock G2 and it did not work

- General adapter for 100W/20V, compatible with PD 3.0 works fine.

Hope this helps!

@ekopay

The specs of your machine is

Well, it requires a 330W charger that why 100W charger only charges your machine when it turns off.

Regards.

Hi, the link you posted is for the ck2000 while mine is the ck2002na. Also, it is clearly stated on HP web page where I purchased that the laptop has power delivery.

For this model also, on the HP page it specifically says that 'You can use the 100W/20V Type-C adapter or power bank when running light loading tasks.'

That's why I got this model, as for travelling it would be great
