Omen 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been using an Omen 17 since 2017 and have had a good experience with it until very recently.  I noticed the keyboard bulging upward on the lower right corner of the laptop.  I opened the case and found that the battery had expanded.  I've extracted the battery and the Omen appears fully functional except for being now battery-less and the keypad is no longer lit.  There is some minor cracking on the upper surface as the battery forced it upward, but it is barely noticeable.

I am now beyond the warranty, but this is a pretty alarming thing to have happen.  Has this happened to others and if so, is HP offering any kind of restitution for cases like this?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
