Hello, @Cachee1

I did explain about the RAM available on your PC in my previous message. If you have missed it, here it is again:

Your PC supports up to 16GB of RAM. It has 2 slots for RAM which support up to 8 GB each (2*8). Also, your PC already has 16GB RAM installed and hence no further upgrade is available.

Check the maintenance and upgrade guide for your PC for more details: http://hp.care/2tjlYWa

Hope that helps! Let me know!

Hello, @Cachee1– Hope you are well 🙂

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I need to know the complete model number of your PC to let you know about the RAM capacity on your HP Envy PC. There are several Envy -17 n series laptop models, hence please let me know the exact model number.

If unsure, please check: http://hp.care/2oPCMBG

Alternatively, go to http://hp.care/2nYnw23 and enter your product number to get the support page of your product. Check the product information tab to know the exact specifications.

Thanks, I’ll watch for your reply!

Good luck 🙂

Questions keep popping up - This question  is:

I bought a Samsung 850 evo mSATA 500gb SSD hard drive. I tried to find the answer on YouTube but I did not see it.

What kind and where can I find a caddy for this. I saw a demo of a caddy for a SATA111 but I cant see how this connection on the SSD can fit where a 2.5" drive will go.

Can you explain this?

Hello, @Cachee1

Thanks for the update!

First off, your PC supports up to 16GB of RAM. It has 2 slots for RAM which support up to 8 GB each (2*8). Also, your PC already has 16GB RAM installed and hence no further upgrade is available.

Now, you can use the caddy on your PC, but for that, you may need to remove the optical drive from your PC. You need to remove the optical drive and install the caddy in that slot.

If you need to do this, you need to do it at your own discretion as Hp does not recommend or support such upgrades.

Alternatively, check the maintenance and upgrade guide for your PC: http://hp.care/2tjlYWa

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Cheers 🙂
