Windows (c:) on my gaming laptop is indicating that it only has 24.8 GB free of 475 GB and that the DATA (D:) has 926 GB free of 931 GB. I'd like to free up some space on the Windows (C:) in order to accommodate downloading some extra features for MSFS 2020. Is it therefore possible to move my thousands of photos/images/videos and music from the Window (C:) onto the Data (D:) and if so how can i accomplish this?
Many thanks.

I suspect that the C:/ partition appears red instead of blue in Windows Explorer. Is that the case?
The DATA (D:) partition is where you should have been storing photos and videos all along.
I suggest using Windows Explorer to copy from the C:/ partition and paste them into folders you create in the DATA (D:) partition.
Once you have done that, delete the identical files in the C: drive.
Is is important that you remember to always leave at least 10% of the as free unused space. Otherwise you will find out, as many others have, what crashing an operating system is like. I can state with certainty that you do not want to have that experience.
Whenever you have a program installed that installs large files always set the DATA (D:) partition as preferred storage. Use the app settings to make that happen. Make sure that you create a MSFlightSim director in the D:/ partition.
For Microsoft Flight Sim , read the discussion at Steam Community on the subject of moving files and setting up the game.

Many thanks Erico for your very useful advice. As suggested I've successfully transferred (copy and pasted) all of of my music/photos/videos from my C:/ over to Data (D) and making sure they have done before deleting from my C:/ This has freed up an immense amount of space on my C:/
Re MSFS, in the coming days I'll look into the guidance in the link you've kindly provided.
Again, many thanks,
