HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0006np

I have recently started using my laptop for games, and since doing so, my laptop has powered of unexpectedly and suddenly during the middle of a game, at least 5 times now. Also, the light next the power socket (on the laptop) goes off, and it won't let me power it on again until it has cooled down. Is this normal? Is there no way it can somehow warn me before it does this so that I can save the data beforehand? (I lose the data whenever it powers off like this). Thanks.

That is very normal. To protect itself from damages, it will shut itself down when too hot, specially when playing games or working on tasks which require more resource.

Please keep it to run cooler for example using cooling pad such as
