HP Pavilion g6-2311sp Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need the community help to find the part number for one of mine HP notebooks.

Mine HP Pavilion g6-2311sp is being upgraded with a ssd and a better wireless and while at it I noticed an error that relates to the fan making a huge noise like it is breaking and right after a message about overheating.

I have already seen the disassembly tutorial for it but it has so many screws and steps that I don't feel comfortable to basically take it all apart and while expecting the new fan having to make sure every screw and parts is laying around.

Can anyone who has access to the service manual to get me this info. Since this is a quite old PC I will replace the parts myself.

So if anyone can be so kind in letting me know the right part number for the fan I would be very thankful

Notebook Model: HP Pavilion g6-2311sp

Product number: D4G69EA#AB9

Serial number: [edit]

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:

c03593041.pdf (hp.com)

The fan is sold as part of the heat sink assembly.

Chapter 3, page 23 has the list of part numbers for the heat sink you need for your notebook's hardware configuration.

Heat sink for use only with computer models equipped with switchable discrete video memory   HP part # 680550-001.

Looks like a lot of work to replace the fan--chapter 4.

Major shoutout to Paul for saving the day with my laptop repair and upgrade!

Hi everyone,

I'm so thrilled to share my successful laptop repair, and I owe a huge chunk of thanks to Paul from this amazing community!

My laptop had the most intimidating number of screws I'd ever seen, and I honestly wasn't sure where to start. Paul's guidance and assistance were truly invaluable. Not only did he share his expertise, but his encouragement really gave me the push I needed to tackle the project, it looked intimidating at first.

I've already ordered the part, and it looks like a perfect match thanks to the help. This community is incredible – having someone like Paul offer accurate and clear advice made all the difference!

Special thanks again to Paul!
