Please find attached an aerial view of the AC socket. StAC Socket.jpegrange thing is it worked fine and now only works from the battery. Of course the batt will die soon and I may be left with a useless laptop. The PSU is fine I've tested it at 19 volts. It's just when it is plugged into the laptop with the battery disconnected there is no power to the laptop

Hi @fastrack-1966,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with the AC socket. We request that you perform the power drain and check:

Perform Power drain:

1) Shut down the computer.

2) Unplug all the Adapters and peripherals connected.

3) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.

4) Plug in the Adapter.

5) Try to turn on the computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
