Product: Pavilion 15
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Need to replace battery in Pavilion 15 notebook, which has a 3Cell TE03XL battery; replacement partnr. 849910-850.

Ordered  original replacement battery, but received a 4Cell TE04XL battery partnr. 905277-855. 
Physical dimensions of both batteries are identical, however the number of cells is different. 

 

Q: Is the battery management system in Pavilion 15-bc035nd compatible with a 4Cell battery?

 

Please see attached product and Build ID (serial# erased)

I don't want to risk damage to the notebook or cause hazardous situation.

The series has 2 options for battery

 

  • 3 cell, 61 Wh, 5.37 Ah  part # 849910-850
  • 4 cell, 63 Wh, 4.11 Ah part # 905277-855

The 4cells battery is better (may be more expensive) because it stays longer between charges. Short answer: yes, you can use part 905277-855 for your machine.

Confirming that the 4-Cell TE04XL battery was fully compatible with Pavilion 15-bc035nd.
Battery is identified correctly and all cell measurements ok, battery test ok.
