Hello community, I have recently received a Pavilion dv6 and are looking to upgrade my ram for video editing. Does anyone know the maximum amount of ram I can use?

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

I can't find any specs on your exact model online, but if it has an Intel processor, you can install 2 x 8 GB of memory.

If it has an AMD processor, you can install 2 x 4 GB of memory.

Thanks,

I have an AMD processor and that's already the amount of ram installed.

Would I be able to install a SSD?

You're very welcome.

Yes, you can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive and install a 2.5"  SSD in your notebook.
