My HP Pavilion Laptop DVD Player has stopped working
I tested the optical drive and it gave me the following code after failing the test.

Hi:
Below is the failure report generated by the code you posted, minus your notebook's serial number.
GSPPG0-7SPAPR-MFPWLK-6HKK03 | OK | 0000000000 | 9/6/21 | 346 | Storage | Floppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape Drive | Optical Drive 1 Read/Write/Format Error |
I don't have any idea what that means, other than you probably need to install a new DVD drive.
The serial number of your notebook provided this parts list...
Product Number : K8Y43AV
Description : HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK - 15Z-AB000 CTO
RoHS Status : COMPLY_2.07
* PRELIMINARY UNENHANCED DATA * |

Looks like you can pick up a used but tested and working DVD drive pretty cheaply on eBay...
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the DVD drive removal and replacement procedure...
