Well, unfortunately this did not solve my issue. I removed the battery and the Samsung SSD and left the NVMe only in.
I let the computer sit for a half hour then held the power button for a count of 20 and installed the battery.
The CMOS was cleared. The device continued to have booting issues. I set reset the Bios to default, which didn't look like it really changed anything because secure boot was still disabled, and the computer still has boot issues.
The only drive in it is the NVMe, so I went to the UEFI hardware diagnostic to run a Hard Drive/SSD test on it and as I suspected might be the case I received the message "No hard drive installed. Please check that the power and data cables are connected properly.
AAAAARGH!
