My Laptop is an XP pro (vista ready) DV8000 1GB Ram, AMD Turion 64 processor. I would like to know if the processor can be upgraded to a faster AMD using the same slot. I understand from what I have been reading, that DDR333 ram can possibly be used in place of the 256-MB DDR1.
HD's should not be a problem upgrading, however to go to Win 7 (would really like to have 10 pro) this would still run a bit slower. any other tips or fixes to upgrade this wonderful ole' laptop? I love this thing.

@SonnyWidener I'm afraid HP neither recommends nor supports changing the processor of your device as it may render the device unstable due to incompatibility among other components of your device, that said, your laptop is not tested for Windows 10!
At this point, the best suggestion I have for you, is to go for an upgrade and get a new HP laptop rather than spending on customizing this obsolete device, in my personal opinion.
