Good day all,
I would like to know what the actual dimensions of the DC-jack, I made my own back-up battery system that I can carry with me with anywere. instead of voiding my warrenty and/or destroying my not so cheap laptop I wanted to use the charge port (even though I have to deal with the charging losses it seems the most save) as a means of power/charging the laptop. However I was stunned to see that I was unable to find any concrete specifications, instead of trying to measure it myself I thought I would ask it here since this probably is the better option(I want to be 100% sure I have the right connector). So my question to you guys is: What is the actual size/dimensions or maybe even the name of the DC-jack?
Thanks in advance,
Stijn_T_H

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 15-ax025nd. I read that you would like to know the size/dimensions of the DC jack for this laptop. I'll be glad to help.
I did some digging for information on this part and found the following information:
- The DC port looks like this inside the laptop: (Page# 56 of the user guide explains the steps to reach the power connector in the laptop)
Part Number: 858021-001
Part Description: GNRC DCIN CA 10P STD 4.5mm 120W L50 TL. Compatible with a 4.5x3.0mm Pin Plug AC Power Adapter
I hope this information helps. Feel free to keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Your information is correct, it does use a dc in cable as you described, compatible with 120W adapter and 4.5x3.0mm adapter port.
