A 32 bit operating system can only address up to 4 GB of memory.

 

The only suggestion I can offer if Windows only recognizes 2 GB of memory would be to try this:

 

1) Go to Search and type msconfig into the Search Box

2) When the program appears...

3) Select BOOT TAB

4) Select Advanced Options

5) UNTICK Maximum Memory if it is checked.

6) Click on OK to close and again on OK to close.

7) Reboot Computer.
