The book says 16GB (2 x 8GB) max but Crucial is a reliable source and I believe them 99%.

Normally all Omen 15-1xx machines have same version 2 for HDMI port.

You won't get 144Hz on external monitor using HDMI 2.0 port. You should be able to get 1920 x 1080 at 120Hz
