Hi all, my HP Probook 6470b is becoming old.... 4gb ram and nothhing more for the moment, but he's becoming relly slow ... In Crucial website they tell me about 8gb RAM... possible ?
I think also to replace the actual architecture HDD by an SSD for Windows an softwares, and a HDD in a caddie in place of my broken DVD reader. Do you think it will work better ?
Got no money to buy another one... so upgrade... good for the planet
Waiting for your advices.
Un saludo

Upgrading is not free of course but much less money than a new laptop. Here is the 6470b service manual:
Max memory is actually 16 gb or a pair of eight gb DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM. A pair of 4s would be your best bang for the buck as we Americans say.
Then replace the old mechanical hard drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Its a straight up swap and the SSD fits right in where the hard drive is located.
We can walk you through migrating your software install over to the new drive. Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
