My laptop power cable is no longer charging while the computer is switched on and the pin inside the plug is bent.
I need a new cable and I have the extended warranty (laptop was bought in 2018 but care pack expires 2021). Does this care pack cover replacement power cables?
Thanks.

@ppaterson ideally, if the cable was shipped with the PC when purchased, it should be covered under the same warranty, however, you may want to check with the warranty team for details on the same, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
here's how private messages work: Click here for details

I've tried contacting the HP support team via whatsapp and received a fairly rude response to my query. They also said they had to go to another team to check whether I would get a new power cable covered under the extended warranty. This was 2 days ago.
I'm honestly not too impressed with what I would've thought should be a simple yes or no query.

@ppaterson Does the power cable need a replacement? If yes, they should replace it for free under warranty.
I hope that answers the question, and let me know if you need anything else.

Yes I need a replacement as there is a bend in the pin in the plug which goes into the laptop. However, the laptop was purchased in 2018 so the initial warranty has expired. I have the HP Care Pack which I understood to be an extended warranty. This doesn't expire until March 2021.
The first person I spoke to at HP gave me the website for a company here in New Zealand that supplies HP spare parts. However, before I spend $67 on a new cable, I'd like to know for certain if the care pack which I purchased in order to cover any damage to my laptop, means I get a new cable for free.

I do not think you will be able to receive a new cable for free, unfortunately. Possibly, you were not using it properly and caused some damage. Have you inspected it closely? I had a similar problem with my cable, I am from https://areacodes.net/310. And you know what? It was my dog to be blamed. It was often playing with it while I was working. And occasionally bit it too strong.

I understand your concerns.
If the product under extended warranty. You will get the free replacement.
I would suggest you contact our phone support. They will help you.
Have a nice day!!

Thanks for your reply. I have tried calling but I'm in New Zealand and due to the lockdown for the coronavirus pandemic they are not taking phone calls currently. This leaves me stuck. Again.
I feel like I'm going round in circles here.
