Hi,

I have a recently refurished Elitebook 840 G1 Ultrabook, but im experiencing some problems with what seems to be the battery.

The charging light is flashing red constanly (even when the laptop is turned off), and wont turn on unless plugged into the ac adapter.

I cant seem to find the model number or product number, it might have been removed by the company that refurbished it.

Thanks in advance

Are you able to boot the notebook into Windows?

Start the HP Support Assistant. In the bottom of each window the product information will appear. If the HP Support Assistant is not installed, you can download it from the notebook's driver download web page at the link in the line below this one. It is in the Software solutions section.

I am curious as to why you have not contacted the refurbisher for the limited warranty?

The flashing power led does indicate an issue with the battery.
