Product: HP G71-340us

I changed the battery on my G71-340us laptop.  Laptop works fine and battery is fully charged but I can’t get the POWER light to stop flashing

That's probably the problem. Aftermarket batteries don't always work correctly, and the power light appears to be flashing an error code. Try running the HP battery check (under HP Support Assistant) and see if any error codes are present.
