Envy x360 15m-bp012dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Envy x360 15m-bp012dx is out of warranty by a few months, and I am experiencing an issue with the power button.

All queries provided me the same results on this issue. That HP has experienced this issue with the majority of their laptops.

As I still have need for this laptop I need to replace the switch (or the board the switch is soldered to) with a new one.

The HP support is horrible as they never called me of emailed me  back for my inquiry on this issue.

When I called the only 2 options are warranty or pay to talk to someone.

And I feel that I shouldn't have to pay to talk to someone to get the part number, or order a part.

Because of this I would like the part number for the switch or board that contains the switch so I can replace this broken item.

my laptop make and model is HP Envy x360 15m-bp012dx convertible laptop.

Please provide the part number and where I can purchase it.

Thank you in advance for assisting with my issue.

I do hope you are certain that the switch is the problem.

Here is a link to the part. The power button is actually a module with a connector. The part is inexpensive and readily available

Being out of warranty is never fun.

Here is the Maintenence & Service guide for your notebook. Chapter 3 page 17 shows the power connector cable (module)

Thank you for your quick response and the links.

I think I will replace the noisy fan as well.

Having an electronics degree and having to build my own circuit boards in the past helps.

It was very easy to diagnose the issue.

and micro switches from china are known for their short life span.

I am going to order 2 of them anticipating the failure again in their limited life span.

And by then I will have replaced it.

One additional item

the link to the part is for the power connecting cable not the power switch.

the on switch is what stopped working.

I haven't had time to dig into this within the hardware but it appears to either be a board or attached to the mother board.

in the past they were separate boards.

I will see what I can find in the manual

Thank you
