When I startup my computer, I receive a 601 error message, meaning my primary battery is very low. Currently it is at 10%. I assume I need to replace it, but I don't know how to go about finding what kind of battery I need. I understand there is an HP parts store, but I don't know what model number I will need for my computer.

If you don't have the HP part number, you can use the HP link below and your PC information to determine the part number: https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx
Once you have the part number, then do an online search to see if anyone carries it and will ship it to you.
Good Luck

I have gotten this far, but do not quite understand what I am looking at. I see two categories under battery: Battery for real-time clock (RTC) and Battery pack - 3-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 2.8Ah, 31Wh (HS03031-CL). When searching online for the battery pack option, it only pulls up secondary batteries. I know this is not the problem because I only recently replaced this battery. I am trying to compare product model numbers with the HP parts store, but am not seeing a match in the information I am finding. For reference, here is my computer information:
Serial Number : CND6172P4F Product Number : W2M88UA Description : HP NOTEBOOK - 15-BA079DX (TOUCH) (ENERGY STAR)
