Hello my hard drive recently died (just out of warranty!!)   I replaced it with a new Swordfish M.2 2280 PCLe Gen 3x4 SSD

and since then  the laptop consistently locks up and I get a "Whea uncorrectable error"  Looking at the original drive that was  installed with my laptop (HP Envy 15m-ds0011dx) I see it was a  128 GB M.2 SSD.. My question is, can this laptop handle this new, larger ssd?  is that maybe the reason I keep getting these errors?  DO I need to change something in the bios?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  ( PS I did not actually change the drive myself, I brought the laptop to a computer store to get it done "professionally" precisely to  try and avoid this type of issue!!)

So many things can cause that kind of error. Bad memory, bad hard drive. I am reluctant to guess what the shop did and I think your first line of inquiry is with them. Perhaps the same thing that caused the hard drive to crash also caused other issues they missed on diagnosis. The drive they installed is compatible. It's really all or nothing there. If it were not they could not have installed Windows to it.

thank you for your help.  I was worried about the drive. now I can just worry about other things! 🙂 Hope you have a happy new year and a great 2021!
