Hey, I've been fighting with a really dumb problem using this device, it heats a lot, like 90c for having a bunch of open tabs and watching a youtube video, I've exausted all alternatives i knew, considering I've been searching for other people with the same laptop using linux to see if they have had a problem with the temps and not, so I started to consider It may be a hardware problem, my laptop is refurbished and searching i found these 2 fan serials as possible 445 g7 replacement fans, should I try to find out what brand of fan I've installed and buy the other one to see if something changes? The actual problem is that the fan is always at the same speed, so it's really really silent I can't listen to it, and sometimes cpu hits 97c and fan doesn't speed up or something change

When was the last time that you cleaned the intake and exhaust ports of your laptop?

Have you ever cleaned the fins of the fan?

Those are two of the most common causes of unexpected high temperatures in a laptop.

Unfortunately, with Linux installed, you will not be able to update the BIOS.

The BIOS controls the fan with an algorithm that speeds the fan up or down when the temperature that is sensed reached a built in (temperature) Delta T point.

If the fan speed isn't changing, check in the BIOS to see what the settings are. The  "Always on" setting, when enabled, should speed up the fan immediately and leave it on at the highest speed whenever the laptop is turned on.

Unfortunately,  the"Always on"  setting can be a bit on the loud side.
