Hello everybody! I would like to increase the capacity of my internal HD and I would like to by an M.2 with capacity 1TB (from West Digital).
The problem I face is this: the manual of my notebook says the maximum capacity of the M.2 slot is 256GB.
from the manual
My bios version is v. 01.51.
Do you think I can buy the 1Tb M.2 or I just have to drop the idea?
Thank you so much for any advice!

As long as the Western Digital M.2 SSD you purchase is the supported M.2 2280 SSD (NGFF), SATA-3 format, the 1TB capacity will not be an issue.
Do not try using the NVMe type M.2 SSD products.
They are not supported by your notebook's systemboard or BIOS.

No.
It has to be NVME, not SATA-3

Excuse me I don't understand.
Now you say:
No. It has to be NVME, not SATA-3
Before you said:

Can you clarify?

I just reread the manual and looked at the Crucial memory website.
It could be confusing. I apologize for being part of the confusion.
According to the HP Maintenance & Service guide the Western digital M.2 will work.
I do recommend using the M.2 SATA3 SSD product you asked about.

New Generation Form Factor is the drive module dimensions and location of the components on the M.2 module. It is a manufacturing style.
