Probook 650 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new client on board with one of these devices. Is it possible to ADD a 2nd drive and maintain the existing NVME 256Gb boot drive?

The bay and connectors are there. But I've read that it's a matter of one or other, which seems very uneconomical.

The  Maintenance and Service Guide is not clear because machines of the series ONLY have one Primary Storage : M.2 SSD or 2.5" HDD but machines with mechanical HDD can have cache (Optane) that means they have M.2 slot and 2.5" bay. Therefore you need more parts to add 2.5" HDD/SSD to the machine. Page 40 of the manual says you need

Hard drive cover (included in Bracket Kit) part # L59054-001

Regards.
