Hello

My battery has stopped holding charge and will only work when plugged into a power source. Unfortunately I can't find any batteries in the hp site or list of sellers. Can someone help with this?

Service Manual

 

Battery replacement is spelled out on p. 30-32 and you need this part:

 

3 cell, 50 WHr 4.52 AH Li-ion battery 715050-001

Post back with any more questions. Pay attention to electrical precautions but this is very doable for most users.

Of course if we had the model number. Then we can find the right service manual which has the HP part number of the battery and from there search amazon.com.uk which has batteries for most HP laptops sold in the last 10 years. 

 

Is the battery customer removable or locked inside the casing?

Its an envy m6-k088ca and the battery is locked inside the casing.
