Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Whenever i connect my charger, i get a long message - "Your Computer is designed to vary performance as needed when a smaller capacity Smart AC Adapter is connected. However your computer exceeds the power rating for the Smart AC Adapter connected. Please connect a higher capacity Smart AC Adapter"

After this message is shown, the charging automatically stops.

I am using the hp original Adapter which came with the notebook.

The specs of your machine is

         https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c03815016

It requires 90W charger. Please check the following discussion first using some tips from there to fix:

    https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/smart-ac-adapter-output-too-low/td-p/95973...

Or please check its label for rating

    (a) If under 90W, you've got a wrong charger,

    (b) If 90W, you've got a faulty charger

On both cases, if still under warranty, please contact HP and ask for a replacement.

Regards.
