Question regarding ram memory upgrade

well i did a little bit of research and found that this laptop can support upto 16 GB of DDR4 Ram with 2x8 GB memory stick slots with 2400MHz but still i want to know will any RAM with these specifications will support my laptop?

There will be more to the memory specification than DDR4-2400. At a bare minimum, you need to know the physical size of the module (almost certainly SODIMM in a notebook) and whether the system uses ECC or non-ECC memory (almost certainly non-ECC).

The only absolutely guaranteed compatible RAM is that sold by HP Parts with a part number listed for your system - though that is likely to be an expensive way of purchasing.

Some of the big memory suppliers like crucial.com sell "guaranteed compatible memory" - you enter the details of your system and they list memory that is guaranteed to be compatible. I tried crucial.com with your system and couldn't find the exact part number in their list, but I found what I think is compatible memory. If you want to try their system, it is listed as "HP - Compaq", "HP 15 Series" - then you have to select what you think is the closest match as there isn't an exact one (which probably voids the guaranteed compatibility). If you are interested in purchasing from them, I'd contact them to see if they can provide guaranteed compatible RAM for your model.

Any upgrade is at your own risk - officially RAM upgrades are service centre only on this model. The Maintenance and Service Guide explains what is involved.

I believe that is the correct product, but I cannot give an absolute guarantee. If you contact crucial.com via their web site, they should be able to confirm compatibility for you.

If you don't have one, I would recommend you buy at minimum an anti-static wrist strap and grounding plug - it's something that's worth having around any time you open a computer. It's even better if you have an anti-static mat connected to you grounding plug as well.

I've used Crucial memory kits in various devices - but have no connection with them other than as a satisfied customer. They are a division of Micron, who are a major memory manufacturer.

As I said, you proceed at your own risk but if you take reasonable ESD precautions (with the wrist strap), follow the instructions in the Service and Maintenance Guide that I previously gave the link for and install compatible memory all should go well.
