I just bought this laptop for my wife along along with a compatible PNY 8gb Stick of RAM. Will the PNY stick be compatible with the 4gb stick already included? Thus giving me 12gb total?

PNY has dozens of different RAM products. I can't answer your question but I know the following ones are compatible
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs824a/ct16120157 or
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs8266/ct16120084 (may ONLY run at 2400MHz)
Regards.

Running 4GB + 8GB = 12GB you don't need to be same brand as long as they are compatible. You can use the following tool to find EXISTING RAM information and check 8GB stick
https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.91-en.exe
Then compare both, as long as they have same characteristics / specs then Okay.
Again, PNY has dozens of RAM products, I can't say yes or no when I don't know its specs

I don't work for PNY but you can try. Did you use CPU-Z to work see what is existing RAM. Does it also say
4GB 2.4GHz PC4-19200 DDR4 SO-DIMM Unbuffered Non-ECC
Regards.
