Hi:

Your notebook can run a max of 2 x 8 GB of memory.

Your notebook's processor can only run the memory at 2133 MHz, but 2133 MHz memory is very hard to find nowadays, so you can use either 2400 or 2666 MHz memory, and it will bridge to 2133 MHz.

Here is the link to a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook...

Below is the link to the service manual.

Hey Paul , thanks for your valuable assistance, since 2400 and 2666 are DDR4 RAM and the default RAM in my notebook is sk hynix DDR3 RAM of 2133 MHZ, so will it be compatible and also will my notebook accept DDR4 RAM as I googled and found that DDR3 & DDR4 have different pin slot and it cannot be fitted in each other slot.

You're very welcome.

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates the memory is DDR4.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hP---Compaq/hp-15-ay554tu

The parts list for your notebook shows the installed memory is part number 820570-005, 8GB, 2133MHz, 1.2v, DDR4 SDRAM memory module.

I don't see how the memory could be DDR3 given the info I posted.

Are you sure you have a 15-Ay554TU notebook?

Hey Paul,

As I am not an tech savvy , I misunderstood that 2133 Mhz speed only have DDR3 RAM, I checked and your point is right just one question now can I insert new 8GB Ram along with default 4gb, will it hamper performance of notebook by any way?

Hi:

You can install an 8 GB memory module along with the 4 GB module and it will work just fine, but in the lower performing single channel mode.

It is currently running in the lower performing single channel mode with one memory chip installed, and an empty memory slot.

You have to install memory in matching capacities (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB) for the memory to run in the higher performing dual channel mode.
