Please tell me, is it possible REPLACE the memory inside this model? They say, model has 2 x 4 gb, but is it possible to replace? How can i know it 100% sure? (no info inside manual about *replacing*)

I want to make it 2 x 8gb 3200 at least.

Thank you!

You're very welcome.

The memory is definitely removable and would support no less memory than what the manual indicates, but I am almost sure it would support 2 x 16 GB.

Hi:

HP only has the service manual for the older 15s-eq0xxx model series.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

Chapter 1 of the manual indicates that the older model series supports 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

Since your notebook has a 5th generation Ryzen processor, it most likely supports 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

You can do this to confirm how much memory your notebook can support...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Official manual say nothing about slots count.

Please, help me become 100% sure that laptop has 2 slots

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for the 15-eh1xxx model series.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

The notebook has two memory slots and according to the manual can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

Once again, I believe that the max listed in the manual is too low, and you can run the command I posted the other day to see if the PC can support 2 x 16 GB of memory.

The 'not customer accessible or upgradeable' statement in chapter 1 of the manual means that HP wants any work to be done by an authorized service center.

Chapter 5 has the memory removal and replacement procedure.
