HP 14-bs039na
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am planning to buy HP 14-bs039na laptop, which is on offer with 4 GB RAM. I would like to know how many RAM slots are there in this laptop? Can it be upgraded to 8GB RAM? How much will it cost me in UK? Please could you advice.

Thanks.

That particular configuration of the HP 14-bs039na notebook is published as being able to support:

8GB of single channel memory. There is a single slot.

I suggest that you ask a shop how much it will cost to upgrade the memory.

@Kapil0481

Firstly your machine has 32Bit OS therefore anything over 4GB won't work.

Secondly your macine has  Intel® Pentium® N3710 (1.6 GHz base frequency, up to 2.56 GHz burst frequency, 2 MB cache, 4 cores) processor/CPU therefore you can't upgrade (sort of) to 8GB of RAM max, the book says not accessible.

Regards.

@banhien

Actually the Intel® Pentium® N3710  does support Max Memory of 8GB.

Good point about the 32-bit OS. It can be upgraded to 8GB, but only 4GB will be recognized by the OS.  The BIOS will recognize it. With a 64-bit OS (Windows or LInux), all 8GB of the upgraded memory can be utilized by the OS.
