Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, has anyone had one of these laptops shipped with RAM in DIMM02 not DIMM01, reason I ask is mine shipped with a single 8GB RAM module and it was in installed in DIMM02.  I Ordered an additional 8GB Module and put this in DIMM01 and just got a blank screen, put original RAM Module in to DIMM01, same issue, both RAM Modules work when installed in DIMM02 but not DIMM01. I was careful to ensure these modules we're seated properly, battery and power disconnected and performed the 30 sec power button cycle with power off on each occasion, thanks, I appreciate any answers

Is the 8GB module that you ordered exactly the same as the original one?

Mixing module brands can result in the issue you are facing if the memory timings or even the vDIMM voltage is not the same

Hi Erico, thanks for the reply, yes I ordered exactly the same Samsung RAM that shipped with the machine, both are identical in spec's Samsung 8GB DDR5 5600MHz PC5-44800 CL46 SODIMM 1.1V,

I'm curious because when I opened it up, the original 8GB Ram Module was in DIM02 and would not work in DIM01

That could be a memory module slot failure on the system  board.

If your laptop is still in warranty, you should consider starting a warranty claim.
