Can I extend my notebook RAM upto 16GB? And, can I change the GPU unit?

Yes and no.

 

Two SODIMM slots DDR3L-1600 MHz Dual Channel Support Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM

 

Manual

 

You have the GeForce 840M video and there is an available motherboard with the 850M video. In other words, there is no GPU unit other than the motherboard...the video is a soldered in chip. The cost of buying and swapping the motherboard for an increase from an 840M to an 850M would make zero sense financially. 

 

Memory upgrade also is largely theoretical. See p. 72 of the Manual. It takes removal of the motherboard to access the memory slots.
