In my laptop( HP NOTEBOOK MODEL:15da0004TU) i have two ram slots. one slot is filled with the ram that comes with the laptop{ddr-4(2400 mhz).i want to upgrade another ram for dual channel configuration.                                                                              "can my laptop support dual channel configuration if i upgrade another ram"?

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

Your notebook supports 2 x 8 GB of memory.

 

If you want the memory to run in dual channel mode, you need to install the memory in matching capacities (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB).

 

The product specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with a 4 GB memory module, so in order to run the memory in dual channel mode, you would install a second 4 GB memory module.

 

If you install an 8 GB memory module, you will have 12 GB running in single channel mode.

 

You may want to do that anyway, and remove the 4 GB memory module and install an 8 GB memory module later on if your budget won't let you max out the memory right away.
